5 of the Most Well-Known Quartz Countertop Brands

Quartz Countertop Brands

In 2019, quartz countertops are making significant appearances on popular cable television shows. For Joanna and Chip Gaines, the celebrity interior designers of Fixer Upper on HGTV, no kitchen would be complete without quartz countertops. Christina El Moussa, host of the HGTV shows Flip or Flop and Christina on the Coast, often recommends quartz countertops, particularly white slabs that resemble marble, accented by gray cabinetry. The quartz trend shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, fabricators are now promoting their engineered stone creations as established brands. When shopping for quartz countertops, here are five brands to keep an eye on.

1. Caesarstone

Caesarstone was founded in 1987 and was the pioneer of the quartz surfaces market. They offer a wide array of collections, from Classico, which features multiple colors, to Metropolitan, which resembles the beauty of industrial art and architecture. Their products are sold in over 50 countries around the world.

2. Corian

This DuPont brand is not to be confused with the original Corian solid surface material, which was invented around the same time Breton was developing quartz. A few years ago, DuPont acquired the Zodiaq brand of quartz, renamed it Corian Quartz, and enlisted Martha Stewart to provide celebrity endorsement. Corian Quartz installers must be certified by DuPont, and the company offers a 10-year limited warranty for countertops purchased and installed in North America

3. Viatera

Owned by the South Korean electronics giant LG, Viatera is an interesting brand of quartz that’s actually manufactured in the U.S. Like DuPont, Viatera started out with futuristic solid surface materials before pivoting to quartz in the late 1990s. Some of this brand's most interesting designs include Lava Ice, a slab that looks like red lava coming out of a crater.

4. Cambria

This American company has managed to secure a substantial share of the quartz market. Cambria falls under the umbrella of the Davisco Foods family business, a company that has provided dairy products to major brands such as Kraft for decades, and the brand ambassador for Cambria quartz is none other than supermodel Cheryl Tiegs. The company has invested heavily in perfecting its quartz fabrication process to make its slabs look as natural as possible.

5. Silestone

Similar to Cambria, Silestone has enlisted a famous supermodel to promote its quartz countertops: Cindy Crawford. Silestone is made by Cosentino, a Spanish company that’salso the global leader in ceramic tile manufacturing and distribution. The Calacatta line of Silestone quartz has an appearance and texture that evokes Italian white marble extracted from Tuscan quarries.
